Nursery Part II

My llama sheets came last week and my bed skirts and blankets arrived in the mail on Monday. These were the final pieces I was waiting on to put the nursery together and consider it 100% complete. Over the last several weeks I've sat on the floor surrounded by frames and shelves and decor trying to visualize exactly where I wanted things. Since the walls were freshly painted I didn't want to put holes in them and then decide to move something a week later. Due to this and my inability to decide on things basically ever it took me a month to hang everything.

There were times when I was just frustrated it wasn't done but now that it is I feel super accomplished and I'm glad I took my time. Thank you to those of you who gifted us with all the decor and signs and decals and paintings, etc. Each piece has a personal meaning to me because I remember each person that gave each item to us every time I look at it. That makes you all part of the twins' lives already. Same goes for the clothes. No, I don't remember who gave me every single item but there are several pieces that I remember came from certain people and that is special. Below is a sort of virtual tour of the hall leading up to the nursery and the nursery itself with captions to orient you.

And for those of you who didn't guess their names, spoiler alert, their names are in the pictures because of the awesome people in my life who had items personalized!

Hallway leading to the girls' room. Elephant canvas from my DMs from my work shower, month frames from my co-worker, Jess, and the guest book from the shower Olivia threw for me. I need a picture for the other frame!

Violet's crib. Sheet set from Etsy, decals from my friend, Kasey, and 14" white letter from Amazon. Embroidered blanket from my Aunt Lynne and cousin, Lillyan.

Zara's crib

Corner nook! LLama canvases painted by Sue Carroll, horse music box from my room when I was little, a single rose from my work shower and little llamas from my mom and friend, Kelsy.

3 foot llama decal from Kasey, crate of extra blankets from various friends and family members. Friend Hannah sewed the two on top! Two boppys.

My chair, llama blanket from co-worker, Vanessa, night stand table, lamp from friend, Donna, toy chest behind the chair from friend, Julie, stuffed oversized duck from my childhood, books from tons of friends and family members, shelves and art from friend, Rachel, and her mom, Donna. Hand/foot print frame from co-worker, Sam.

No Prob llama dish from friend, Kelly. Picture frame from my work shower.

closet! Looks a little messy but some of the stuff in there will go in the car once it's organized and some of it goes on the car seats or stroller. All the clothes are organized. 3-6 months is in the hanging organizer in the closet and newborn-3 month is in the dresser.

Dresser/Changing station. Diaper organizer from friend, Hannah, and mom, Traci. Changing pad from friend, Kara. Diaper genie from friend, Allie.

Clothes racks/signs from my Aunt Lynne and cousin Lillyan. Excited to always have some outfits up there for the next day (or the next blow out).  I think these newborn unicorn outfits are from Grandma Sue.

Hanging diaper station. The room got small fast. We had to utilize hanging hampers and this station.

So that's the nursery. Now on to the front room. We obviously needed a changing/rocking/nursing station on the main level of the house too. Part of the furniture we have from Alex's mom's house is a full dining room set, including a server. Since we don't have a plethora of liquor lying around to stock a server it has sat mostly empty in the corner of our front room for the past five years. Mom had the idea to make it into a changing table (genius!) Alex built a box thing to contain the changing pad and we stocked the inside with changing essentials, clothes, burp cloths, and bibs. Across from the changing station is my reading/rocking/nursing nook with my glider, an end table and a shelf of books. Overall I'm really happy with how the room looks!

Glider from the Accounting Department. I love the chevron!

Books from friends and family, memory/photo books from Aunt Deb and sister-in-law, Liz, book ends from friend, Rachel, Willow Tree Twins from co-worker, Paige.

Changing station! The sign in the corner says "Sometimes when you pray for a miracle you get two" from Sue Carroll.

The changing pad fit perfectly in the space, like it was made for this! We'll move the whole thing to the right a bit so the left arm doesn't stick out into the entry way of the dining room, but you get the point!
