When I wrote my last post about 9 months ago I had no idea I would be where I am today. Right now I am sitting in the living room of my apartment in Blue Ash, Ohio waiting for the a/c guy to come fix my ventilation problem before lunch with my fiance. 9 months ago I didn't know I would have my own apartment or a job I love as a sales associate at the biggest department store in the country, or that I would be planning my December 29th wedding. 9 months ago I did not know that my life would be forever changed by the people and songs of South Africa.
9 months ago my life was full and my heart was happy. Now it is full in entirely different ways. I miss my Peruvian family and all the adventures I had during my time there. Leaving was the hardest thing I've ever done but if I had not left I would not be where I am today. God works in mysterious ways and I am learning to love the mystery of every single day. A lot has happened in the last 9 months - way too much to write about now. But at the end of the long story that was the end of my college career and the struggle that got me here is the story of God's faithfulness.
I am overwhelmingly encouraged today by the blessings God has showered over me and Alex to get us to this point. I hope you too will find encouragement in the little mysteries of God in your day to day.
